民政局幹部阿滿（李家耀 飾）把生活無著的鍾有德（程之 飾）請到飯館聊家常，碰上從福利院跑出來的孤兒安安（倪媛媛 飾）。他與同事田紅（塗冷慧 飾）來到福利院，發現鍾有德也住在這兒，經勸說，鍾有德死活不肯再回那個兒女不孝的家，並言稱再讓他回家就死給大夥看。阿滿與田紅去鍾家家訪碰壁，回來的路上再次見到流浪的安安，便把她帶回家，安安視阿滿為爺爺。鍾有德兒子（董懷義 飾）惡人先告狀，氣憤的鍾有德留下遺書，喝下他誤認為的農藥。焦急的阿滿背老人上醫院累昏，被醫生誤以為他是中毒者，結果忙中出錯。安安的爺爺從海外回國投資公益事業，意外發現遭遺棄的孫女......
