Deb（布魯克·奧賽 Brooke D'Orsay 飾）是個豔冠群芳但是學識淺薄的美人，夢想自己有一天能成為超級模特，卻在一次嚴重的交通事故中喪命。在去到天堂後，被天堂守門人Fred（本·費德曼 Ben Feldman 飾）拒之門外，就因為判定她是個性淺薄的中庸者，無法入天堂也無法去地獄。她因為和Fred起爭執按動了返回人間的按鈕。但是意外再次發生，她居然上錯了身。進入Jane（布洛克·艾略特 Brooke Elliott 飾）的身體，一個聰明睿智、很有主見、熱愛工作、忠於職守的女律師，唯一的缺點是太胖了。無可奈何的Deb隻能在守護天使Fred的幫助下她開始作為Jane生活。沒有了美貌的她要如何在人間生活，她又要如何才能找回自己的過去呢？
