霍利（西諾薇·卡爾森 Synnove Karlsen 飾）和喬治亞（艾斯琳·弗蘭喬茜 Aisling Franciosesi 飾）是在同一所大學念書的好友，彼此之間友誼十分堅實。一次偶然中，兩個單純的女孩得知了由她們的講師朱迪（露易絲·布瑞麗 Louise Brealey 飾）所領導的一個秘密的圈子，其中活動的都是校園金字塔裏最頂端的女生們。
很快，喬治亞便融入了這個精英團體之中，夜夜出席盛大華麗的挽回，接觸的都是名聲大噪的上流社會人物，而霍利似乎成為了被排斥和被孤立的那一波人中的一員。然而，隨著時間的推移，喬治亞的行為舉止越來越奇怪，偏離了正軌，隻有霍利知道，這一切都和那個圈子有關，她開始了調查。
