《摩斯探長前傳》第三季確定於2016年1月在ITV播出。新季將以1967年為背景，劇情承接第二季結尾，依舊由Shaun Evans和Roger Allam聯合主演，Russell Lewis擔任編劇，摩斯探長係列小說作者Colin Dexter擔任顧問。本季四集的標題分別為《旅程》、《桃源》、《狩獵》、《終曲》。
