《漫長的陰影》劇情簡介
繼收視和口碑均表現喜人的《白屋農場謀殺案》《丹斯》後，ITV預定了下一部真實罪案類劇集《約克郡開膛手 The Yorkshire Ripper》(暫定名)。
《殺死伊芙》《審訊室：英國》編劇George Kay負責劇本，《白屋農場謀殺案》導演執導。
本劇共6集，基於Michael Bilton的書籍《Wicked Beyond Belief: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper》創作，將講述世界上最臭名昭著、令人震驚的連環殺手案件之一，即對被稱為"約克郡開膛手"的Peter Sutcliffe的追捕。
在1975年10月至1981年1月期間，警方進行了英國犯罪史上最大規模的搜捕行動。對Sutcliffe的搜尋持續了五年，有超過一千名警員參與，徹底改變了英國警方的工作方式。
