1956 劇情簡介： 辛亥革命前後，居住在浙東山村裏的祥林嫂（白楊 飾）命運淒慘，丈夫祥林早年去世，他死後的棺材帳越滾越大，一家人生活舉步維艱。婆婆走投無路，為了還清債務，給二兒子阿根娶親，在中人衛老二（管宗祥 飾）的慫恿下不惜偷偷將媳婦賣給賀老六（魏鶴齡 飾）。阿根將此事告於嫂子，心中無限淒苦的祥林嫂連夜逃跑，經人介紹在魯鎮魯四老爺家打工。未過多久，婆婆登門領走祥林嫂。被逼過門的女人險些鬧出人命，幸運的是賀老六為人善良忠厚，待她不薄，兒子阿毛的出生則令祥林嫂些許體會到生而為人的難得幸福。好景不長，丈夫和兒子接連死亡，徹底將祥林嫂的人生推向穀底…… 本片根據中國著名文學家魯迅的同名小說改編。
